Commonly Asked Questions

Q:  Can donors specify where they want their donation to be used?

A:   Donors will be able to specify where they want their donation to be allocated.  We have a form set up with all SVHS activities listed. Click here to see the form and to make a donation.   Each month, a check will be cut to the activity for funds donated.

Q: Where will donations go if I do not designate an activity?

A:  General funds will be pooled in the SVBC account.  The coach / activity advisor will fill out a SVBC grant request form to request funds for an upcoming event / activity / need.

Q: Who decides what the funds are used for?

A: The SVBC board will review all grant applications at their monthly meeting and determine what is possible to support the request via vote.

Q: How are supporters recognized?

A:  Donor Recognition will occur in many forms and strategy is being developed to determine effective marketing.  Donors will be listed on our website by membership level. We are also exploring event/in venue recognition and social media callouts / links.  Event programs with the donor logos listed has been discussed as a viable option to pursue.

Q:  Can donations be made via check?

A: Yes, donations can be submitted via check. Our mailing address for SVBC is 190 Braves Cir, Afton, WY 83110.

Q:  Was this booster club approved by the athletic director and board?

A:  SVBC is separate from the school and school board.  The athletic director, Kyle McClain, is a board member.  The school board is aware that we have formed SVBC and we reached out to them as we formed this 501(c)(3) to ensure transparency to avoid issues.  Donations do not need to be approved by the school board if they are directed to SVBC.

Q: Is there another active booster club in Star Valley?

A:  No.  We reached out to previous organizers to ensure we did not duplicate this service.
